Abstract The coupling between closely spaced split-ring resonators, when employed as sub-components of electromagnetic structures, is an important feature often leveraged upon to provide bulk material properties. In its contribution, this paper employs characteristic-mode analysis (CMA) examine modal interactions intrinsic the a pair resonators. reveals influence feed impedance and rotational orientation coupled SRRs on excited resonant modes, which, in turn, determine power transfer levels both frequencies at which these occur. insights provided suggest aptness critical design parameters for realization SRR-based magneto-inductive waveguides wireless setups.
